999 Emergency Services Day 2019

Date: August 18, 2019

Time: 11am to 5pm

999 Day 2019

As at our first successful event in 2018, we are again bringing to the museum examples from all the local emergency services with displays and demonstrations throughout the day.  Vintage emergency vehicles will be running alongside modern equipment as well as our usual trams, trolleybuses and train makes for a really fun-packed day, with all the supporting stands from various emergency services.  A free park & ride service will operate today as well as free bus services to Lowestoft as well as the BBQ in the park.

Eastern Transport Collection 50th Anniversary Event

Time: Saturday and Sunday 11am - 5pm

ETCS Poster 2019

To mark to the 50thanniversary of the formation of the Eastern Transport Collection, they will be organising an event with as many former Eastern Counties visiting buses as possible, as well as other vehicles from local operators.  There will be a free park & ride service and free bus services to Beccles and Lowestoft as well as the BBQ in the park.  Trade stands along with static exhibits and visiting vehicles, makes this an interesting weekend for vehicle enthusiasts.

50’s Seaside Celebration

2019 50’s Weekend Poster

A celebration of the 50s with a seaside flavour as we launch into service after restoration our trolleybus Hastings 34, which operated throughout the 50s in Hastings until it was the final trolleybus when the system closed in May 1959.  We will also be operating all our available south coast trolleybuses in service, and there will be visiting buses from the area, including (we hope) one special visiting vehicle from Hastings.  There will be a free park & ride service and free bus services to Beccles and Lowestoft as well as the BBQ in the park.  Music and dancing from the 50s, trade stands, and static exhibits makes this an interesting weekend for all with a liking for the 50s – come dressed 50s style and get a discount!

Easter Family Treasure Trail 2019

Our first event of the year welcomes you with an Easter celebration with fun for all the family, with a free treasure hunt ending in prizes for all the children who take part.  Our tram & trolleybus fleet will be running all day, along with our narrow-gauge railway and all the static exhibits.

There’s some spooky goings on around the site tonight with a free treasure trail for families with prizes for every child. The late running of our trams, trolleybuses and train into the evening will be an extra chilling experience as the woodland tram track comes alive with the spirits of All Hallows Eve when it gets dark. Extra treats for children in fancy dress.

Trolleybus Weekend 2018

As the season draws to a close, please join us for a weekend of fun where all available vehicles from our trolleybus fleet will be running. As the nights begin to draw in, we will be running after dark on Saturday when the museum takes on a very special atmosphere under the period streetlights. There will be a free park & ride service and bus services running to Lowestoft & Beccles using our period buses and a BBQ in the park. In addition, the trade stands and another important vehicle launch will make this event extra special.

Brand New for 2018. We will bring you examples from all 4 local emergency services. With various displays and demonstrations throughout the day this is an event that will interest the whole family. There will be numerous vintage emergency vehicles as well as modern current vehicles running alongside our usual Train, Trams and Trolleybuses with the addition of Stalls supporting various different emergency services .

Presenting electric street transport – past, present & future. There will be a free park & ride service and bus services running to Lowestoft & Beccles using our period buses, along with some interesting visiting vehicles of on both days, and our fabulous BBQ in the park. Our historic trams and trolleybuses will be running alongside the latest in electric vehicles.

1940’s Weekend 2018

Join us once again for a wonderful look back at the roaring 40’s. There will be a free park & ride service and bus services running to Lowestoft & Beccles using our period buses, along with visiting vehicles of the era on both days. There will be trade stands and our fabulous BBQ in the park. Our period trams and trolleybuses will be running both days which makes for the unique setting of the museum, there will also be the sounds of the music playing and dancing, which make this a weekend of fun and nostalgia not to be missed.
