Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to book?
Great news, no booking is not required, simply turn up and pay at the ticket office for both event and regular days.
- Do you allow dogs on site?
Yes, well behaved dogs are very much welcomed, we even provide a drinking bowl, or two, for them. All we ask is that they are kept on their lead and do not enter the Cafe or Shop. You can, with consideration for others, bring them on the vehicles too.
- Do you hire your vehicles out?
Unfortunately, various insurance and covenance restrictions mean that we cannot hire out our vehicles.
- Are you disabled friendly?
When you arrive at our museum you will find 4 dedicated parking spaces for disabled visitors – space restrictions prevent us from providing more, and please note that on our Special Event Days we may not be able to provide any, due to the need to manoeuvre visiting buses in the space normally used for visitor parking. (On Such occasions, we provide a Disabled Drop-off point right outside our gate as well as park & Ride facilities less than 10 minutes away)Our authentic pre-1960’s street settings mean that the era which we depict was one where far less consideration was given to those with restricted mobility, so that some of our cobble-stoned areas may present a challenge for those with buggies or in wheelchairs. However we provide smooth surfaces and drop-kerbs where possible. Our Trams and Trolleybuses, definitely come from a less considerate time and cannot accommodate wheelchairs or buggies, ‘though our narrow gauge railway can and is fully accessibleWe have modern toilet facilities for disabled persons and for baby changing.
